Dr. Karsten Miermans
Karsten is our in-house generalist with a background in biophysics, software development, data science and education. It's Karsten's mission is to transform our technology into value for hema.to's users.
Felix Kunzweiler
Felix is a full-stack developer and data scientist with a M.Sc. in physics. Having deployed many (AI) applications into production, Felix has gathered a deep understanding of the development of cloud applications and AI-based web services. Felix establishes our technical vision and leads the research and development of our products.
Dr. Franz Elsner
Being an astrophysicist by training, Franz has worked as a cosmologist at various research institutes across Europe. He has developed a multitude of novel approaches for data analyses and is an expert in Artificial Intelligence, statistics, and programming. Franz ensures that our AI models are of the utmost quality.
Dr. Martin Becker
Martin has many years of experience in the fields of immunology and cytometry and supports these areas as Senior Scientist Immunology & Cytometry.
Dr. Aleks Mężydło
Aleks has an extensive background in neuro-immunology and developing advanced screening tools. She leads clinical evidences, studies, performance evaluations and the biomedical team.
Lara Rashdan
Lara is an experienced RA/QA specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the Medtech industry, most specifically in startups. Skilled in technical documentation, identifying regulatory and quality requirements and international regulatory submission.
Felix Spöttel
Felix is a senior software engineer with over a decade of experience in building web applications. Felix supports engineering across the entire stack.
Dr. Mohamad Kurdi

Mohamad is an experienced cytometrist and clinical pathologist with a PhD in hematology from Université Paris Cité and experience in Becton Dickinson and multiple French hospitals including Centre Hospitalier de Chartres.
Dr. Pieter Bogaert
Pieter leads hema.to on regulatory strategy and compliance for in vitro diagnostics. With a background in biomedical science, lab operations and longstanding experience in cytometry, he brings expertise in CE-marking, ISO 13485 QMS, risk management, and technical documentation. Pieter is co-Chair of the RAPS Belgium Local Networking Group and has experience with QARAD, Cerba and the VIB.
Dr. Florian Pfisterer
Florian is a statistician by training, having completed a MSc. and PhD in Statistics. During his PhD, Florian conducted research in machine learning with a focus on automated machine learning, optimization, domain generalization and algorithmic fairness.
Younhee Park
Having spent years working as a nurse in South Korea and as a Healthcare Assistant in the UK, she has developed a unique perspective on healthcare needs. Since transitioning to software engineering in 2020, she has combined this insight with her technical skills as a Frontend Engineer and UI Designer at hema.to.
Dr. Alexander Trende
Alexander has a PhD in computer science and combined 6 years of experience in the research and development of machine learning (ML) models. As a researcher, Alexander led and executed several research projects, leading to new insights for practitioners in the field of ML.
Athina Chavli
Athina is a sales development representative at hema.to, starting and fostering relationships with labs and academic hospitals. Athina has a background in cytometry herself as part of her academic training in biotechnology and laboratory work on stem cells.
Daniel Moritz
Daniel is our interim CFO through his company Ingrain, in which he offers bespoke, CFO-as-a-service consulting.
Marie Fleischmann
Holding a Master of Arts in Economics and Law, Marie expertly shapes our data privacy, HR regulations, HR and internationalisation strategies, including US incorporation in close collaboration with the management.

Natalia has a background in biomedical science and laboratory analyses and even flow cytometry at the Scottish transfusion service. She has worked for years as a compliance expert in pharma and works with Lara and Aleks to level-up our compliance processes and documentation.
Clara Bodin
Clara has worked across customer service, communication, marketing, recruitment with her broader background being in project and corporate management. Clara makes sure our backoffice is well-run, and also that our office events are fantastic for the whole team!

Mago is an experienced healthcare founder with an educational background in medical engineering. He wants to contribute his experience and dedication to a company that solves a real-world health problem. Mago is creating and maintaining better communication processes at hema.to.
